Karen is an author and historian with a first-class honours degree in Early Modern Social & Cultural History. She is also a frequent public speaker on the subjects covered in her books as well as indulging her love of history on various other topics where her engaging style often sees her re-invited to speak to groups and schools around the south-east of England.

In addition to being an accomplished archer and amateur archaeologist and a member of the Gallyard Tudor Dancers, Karen is also a member of the Historical Writers Association and the Society of Women Writers and Journalists.

Karen is a versatile member of Past-Times Living History playing Elizabeth Howard Lady Boleyn, Anne Seymour Duchess of Somerset, Eleanor Paston Countess of Rutland and Joan Champernowne Lady Denny but lately has made the role of Queen ‘Catalina d’ Aragon’ her own .... compete with a very convincing Spanish accent!
