Samantha

Tudor historical actor

Growing up just down the road from Hampton Court Palace and with a mother who worked in Conservation there, Sam was lucky enough to visit the palace many times a year as a child. She was soon hooked on history and dreamed of the day that she would be able to work in an environment where historical costume was her uniform.

That dream finally became a reality in 2008 when, in her final year of a BA Hons in Acting for Stage and Media, Sam was employed to bring the character of Annie Chase, (the scullery maid), to life at Audley End House in Essex. Sam was in her element and loved every minute of it despite the never-ending pot cleaning, the skinned rabbits and the pigs' trotters!

When not performing with Past-Times Living History, Sam is extremely busy and has several areas of work. In the summer of 2018 she started her own company, The English Rose, which has led to work at the Mary Rose Museum and several talks as Anne Boleyn for various groups.

Sam is also currently employed as a Learning Activities Assistant at Hampton Court Palace and regularly helps in the running of family activities and school sessions. Finally, Sam often works in film and television. Television appearances include Downton Abbey, Mr. Selfridge, Holby City and Call the Midwife, while film appearances include Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, The Foreigner and Kingsman, The Secret Service.
